The 2006 album from The Submarines.
"Electronic folk duo, The Submarines' debut album has a romantic story behind it so compelling that the music within is doomed to be overshadowed from the start. Similar to the divorce settlement that demanded Marvin Gaye record and release Here, My Dear, The Submarines' Declare A New State is written out of heartbreak. A romantic comedy waiting to happen, The Submarines met as two solo artists in Boston that fell in love, moved to San Francisco, fell out of love, and wrote songs about it. Eventually, the two showed each other the songs, recorded them, reconciled, and lived happily ever after. A friend mastered Declare and gave it to the couple as a wedding gift. It is a touching story, but one that the music does not live up to." - IGN
